1 .Detailed Visa Application Procedure for Nepal:

To travel to Nepal, you will need a visa. Ensure you have all the necessary documents for the visa application process. The Embassy issues tourist visas for leisure travel, while those visiting for study, business, or work should apply for a tourist visa initially and then apply for the respective visa in Nepal upon arrival. 2 .How and Where to Apply for a Visa:

The visa application process is straightforward. You can obtain visas at the immigration counters at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) or from the Diplomatic Missions of Nepal in your country. Simply fill out the form, provide the required documents, and pay the fee based on your length of stay. On Arrival visas are available at the Immigration Counter at TIA, except for citizens from the following 12 countries:

Nigeria

Ghana

Zimbabwe

Swaziland

Cameroon

Somalia

Liberia

Ethiopia

Iraq

Palestine

Afghanistan

Syria

Refugees with a travel document

Visas are typically issued within one working day, but for in-person applicants, it can be issued on the same day if no further verification is required. Note that passport holders not eligible for visa-on-arrival may require additional verification.

4 .Important Information for Visa Applicants:

All foreigners, except Indian nationals entering via land route, need a visa. Apply for a visa during visa hours (Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 13:00), excluding public holidays.

Nationals of all European countries can obtain a visa-on-arrival at TIA. Details on eligibility can be found at https://www.immigration.gov.np/.

Handwritten passports are not accepted for visa issuance.

Visa fees are required as per the below structure.

Children under 10 years are exempt from visa fees.

5 .Required Documents for Visa Application:

A printed copy of the visa submission confirmation.

Original passport with a minimum of 6 months validity and its copy

Official note or letter for visa issuance for diplomatic or official passport holders (for gratis visa)

Travel document holders should contact the Embassy before sending their documents.

6 .Visa Fees at Entry Points:

15 Days ,USD $30

30 Days ,USD $50

90 Days ,USD $125

7 .Visa Extension Fee

Tourist visa extension: minimum 15 days for $45 and $3 per additional day.

Late fine: $5 per day for a delay of fewer than 150 days.

8 .Gratis visas are issued to:

Children under 10 years (except for US citizens).

SAARC citizens (except Afghanistan) visiting Nepal for the first time in a visa year, for up to 30 days.

NRN cardholders, Chinese nationals, and officials from China, Brazil, Russia, and Thailand based on reciprocal agreements.

9 .Important Notes:

Visas cannot be withdrawn, fees are non-refundable, and visas must be used within six months from the issuance date.

Tourists carrying more than $2000 or equivalent foreign currency must declare it upon arrival in Nepal.

Tourists traveling by land with a personal vehicle must have a valid permit (passage de carnet).

Travel document/aliens passport holders should contact the Embassy before sending documents by post.
